1. Lord Byron wrote a famous poem known as 'The Prisoner of Chillon' while he was being held captive in the dungeons. They found the poem carved into the wall of the cell he was in, signed by Lord Byron.

2. The castle consists of 100 independent buildings that were gradually connected to become the building as it stands now.
 
3. The oldest parts of the castle have not been definitely dated, but the first written record of the castle was in 1000.

4. Chateau De Chillon is one of the few medieval castles that was never captured in a seige.
