DAILY JOBS AND OPERATIONS

·         Armourers- This was one of the jobs that was considered an upmost importance in medieval days. The Armourer would have to make armour to fit different body types. 

·         Alchemists – Mixed and potions and found cures.

·         Bailiffs – Bailiffs would manage the castles farms and estates.

·         Bakers- They mostly baked bread because that was what they most commonly ate in medieval days. However, they could also occasionally bake cakes and pastries.

·         Barbers- The Barbers didn’t just cut hair, they also specialised in dentistry and surgery. They were also Blood letters.

·         Blacksmiths- Blacksmiths were also important in medieval days.  They would make and sharpen weapons, as well as repair armour.

·         Bowyers- They manufactured arrows, bows and cross bows.

·         Castellans- They were in charge of the castle. They were known as Custodians.

·         Clothiers-They made clothes for the Nobles. This job required knowledge of various materials.

·         Cooks- They used the fire places and ovens to cook food for the people of the castle.

·         Cordwainers- They made shoes.

·         Gardeners- A Gardeners work was important in relation to safety. The castles walls had to be kept clear of plants that people could climb. This was why a Gardener had to have knowledge of certain plants and herbs.

·         Harkers- They were the Knights assistants. They would declare announcements to the public on behalf of the Knights and the King.

·         Knights- It was their job to learn how to fight.

·         Kings- The King was the ruler.

·         Lords-They told the Servants what to do and made sure they did it.

·         Peasants- Their job was to obey the Lords orders. However, their main job was to farm the land. 

·         Watchmen- The Watchmen were responsible for security. 

Daily operations in a medieval castle depended upon your place in the feaudal system. For example, if you were a peasant the daily operation for you would be very hard work. You would have to obey the Lords orders, most of the time that would be farm work. If you were a knight you would practice fighting in preparation for seiges. The Lords daily operation was fairly laid back, mostly giving orders. The same went for the King.
